London social media star “Big John” Fisher has said “it’s good to be home” as he touched down at Heathrow Airport after not being allowed into Australia following a visa problem.
Mr Fisher - known for his online fast food reviews and signature “bosh” catchphrase - shared footage of photographers greeting him at the busy London airport as he was picked up by a friend.
The Londoner had revealed on Instagram earlier in the week that he was questioned for four hours in the Western Australian city of Perth and that he was being sent back to the UK.
He criticised how he had been “treated like a criminal” by Perth border control despite insisting he had been told he entered Australia legally.
The Romford-born social media star - who has 688,000 followers on Instagram - had arrived in Australia on Tuesday for appearances in Perth and Sydney.
“It’s my birthday and I’m in Perth in a detention hotel waiting to be deported,” he wrote on Wednesday.
"My visa was legal coming in but they are not happy with what I am doing here so they are sending me home," he continued. "To be truthful, I just want to go home now.
"When common sense goes out the window you lose a bit of hope with human beings.
"Well even though I am under lock and key it's my birthday, I'm still smiling and I still love Australia.
"Just can't wait to get home to my family and good old England."
The social media star later shared another video on his Instagram story explaining three men accompanying him in Australia “in case I do a runner”.
“I’ve told them I can’t run anyway” Mr Fisher joked. “The people in the hotel looked after me very well. No complaints there. Problems with the border force. Thanks for everybody for their support it means a lot. I’ll be home soon and I can celebrate my birthday in style.
“Let’s have it. We don’t let things break us remember that - they make us. Bosh.”
An Australian Border Force spokesperson previously said it did not comment on individual passengers because of "privacy obligations".
It is understood Mr Fisher was travelling on an incorrect visa.
Mr Fisher had shared several entertaining posts on social media showing him locked behind bars with the caption “Free Big John”.
“I want to break free” by Queen was attached to several of Mr Fisher’s Instagram stories.
The social media star went viral for his love of Chinese takeaway and he regularly appears at restaurants, clubs, stag dos and major events around the world.
His son Johnny Fisher, a British heavyweight boxer, posted on Instagram: "The Aussies have detained Big John and are sending him home- rumour has it they are frightened of his express pace bowling ahead of the Ashes."
