After three gruelling weeks in the Big Brother house, Holly Young has officially been evicted. Now, stepping back into the real world, the 31-year-old model has burst the bubble on some rumours, including whether or not she was scouted for the 24/7 reality TV show.
Without a doubt, Holly has ruffled feathers both inside and outside of the Dreamworld sharehouse. The Perth-based model set gossip headlines on fire with her famous connections (think, Usain Bolt and Married At First Sight‘s Carina Mirabile), her romance with fellow housemate Colin Ridley, and her polarising Week One chat on pretty privilege.
But alongside all of this tea, there was speculation surrounding how she managed to nab a place in the house, with some viewers speculating she was cast or scouted by producers to join the Big Brother Australia reboot.

Now, with this diva officially leaving the house, her Big Brother boyfriend, and the $100K prize behind, Holly has come clean about the rumour.
Was Holly Young scouted for Big Brother Australia 2025?
Speaking to PEDESTRIAN.TV, Holly confirmed she was approached to join Big Brother Australia. However, she still had to complete the whole audition process in order to nab a spot in the cast.
“Yes, I was scouted to apply for the show but I still had to go through the audition process. I still had to meet with everybody, just like everybody else did, to be on the show,” she said.

Holly went on to reveal that she joined the show to “challenge” herself, adding that “life is a journey” and that Big Brother Australia was something she wanted to experience.
“I felt that there was coming to the end of what was a very busy year for me, so the timing actually worked out in my favour for being able to actually be available,” she told P.TV.
“I wanted to test myself and just see what it would be like and Big Brother is such an iconic show.
“So many people applied, like it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I’m honestly so grateful that I was selected and that I was able to come onto the show and learn so much about myself and also other people in the process.”
Ahead of her eviction, inside sources claimed to PT.V that producers were doing anything and everything to keep her in the house. The claims fuelled speculation that favouritism was running rampant in the house, with Holly being the star.

In response to these bizarre rumours, Holly insisted that she didn’t receive special treatment, telling P.TV, “If anything, I got the rough end of the stick”.
“If anything, my rations were probably smaller than everybody else’s. I do not think that there was any special treatment whatsoever. I think that it was the complete opposite of special treatment,” she said.

Although she’s officially out of the house, it wouldn’t surprise me if she continued to make headlines. Love her, or hate her, she knows how to make waves in the media.
Big Brother Australia is on Monday to Friday at 7.30pm and Sundays at 7pm. Watch and live stream 24/7 on 10play or on TikTok @bigbrotherau.
