Big Brother’s Conor Hits Back At Holly’s ‘Silly’ Claims About Why They Didn’t Get On

Big Brother's Conor and Holly

Since its launch in 2001, Big Brother has essentially locked conflicting personalities in a house to see if they can sort out their differences.

There was no better example of that this season than Conor Maysey and Holly Young, who were regularly captured on the livestream having a massive blow-up.

Conor defs wasn’t the only person who clashed with the 31-year-old model and influencer, as several other housemates had issues with her communication style, “arrogance” and constant PDA with Colin Ridley.

Big Brother’s Holly says her neurodivergence was ‘used against’ her

Following her eviction, Holly revealed that she lives with auditory processing disorder (APD), dyslexia and ADHD. She told Refinery29 Australia she chose not to tell her housemates about her neurodivergence as she “didn’t want to give anybody in the house any more ammunition”, but felt like it was “used against” her.

“I [learned] to be a lot more cautious with what I say, because… there were a lot of people that were nitpicking at every single thing that I said and I wasn’t really open about the fact that I have an auditory processing issue and that I am dyslexic with ADHD. That’s a lot to deal with,” she detailed.

“Did I want to have to disclose that to the house? No. Should I have? [It] would have made it easier for me, potentially, but at the end of the day that’s my choice and I’m entitled to it, so the fact that was kind of used against me did hurt.”

Big Brother’s Conor responds to Holly’s claims

In a rather spicy update, Conor hit back at Holly’s claims after he left the house in Sunday night’s double eviction

The 31-year-old disability advocate told PEDESTRIAN.TV that he and his fellow housemates were “very aware” of Holly’s ADHD and dyslexia — just as they were aware he had Tourette’s — and their communication problems had nothing to do with her neurodivergence.

“She was very clear in the early days about her issues with sometimes processing words and processing numbers and spelling and reading and things like that and we all tried to take that into account,” he said.

“I think that a lot of our problems with her didn’t stem from that. It stemmed from her kind of closed-mindedness in terms of communication.

“We often felt in communicating to her that she wasn’t really listening; she was just waiting for her turn to speak. And often when we would have problems with her, they could never be resolved.”

Conor added that his biggest issue with Holly was that she would never take accountability for her actions and move forward.

“I think a lot of the housemates would say that Holly really struggled with taking accountability for her mistakes,” he continued.

“We all tried to give her as much as we could and I think that it’s a little bit cheeky for her to say that that’s why we didn’t get along with her. For everyone to be so inclusive of me and to be dismissive of her, I think, is a bit silly.”

Where do Conor and Holly stand post-show?

So you’re probs wondering whether Conor and Holly have run into each other since leaving Big Brother and if they’ve resolved any of their issues.

Well, Conor said he hasn’t had any contact with her following his eviction and low-key reckons he won’t.

“I’m not a social media person myself, so I think it’ll be a bit hard for her to reach out to me without someone giving her my phone number. So we’ll see how that goes,” he said.

Ouch.

All I’m saying is, we need Channel 10 to start organising a Big Brother reunion episode ASAP.

The Big Brother grand finale airs 7.30pm tonight on 10.
