Big Brother Australia fans have been left gooped and gagged after it was revealed that “groovy granny” Jane is “an avid and passionate Donald Trump lover”. YEOUCH.
ICYMI, Big Brother Australia has officially returned, and its brand-spanking new reboot brought in a cheeky twist. In its premiere episode, host Mel Tracina revealed that Australia has the opportunity to pick the show’s 13th housemate after introducing the original 12, which featured a plethora of characters.
Australia had two options: Jane or Mitch.
Ahead of the public vote, Jane described herself as a 67-year-old groovy grandma who claimed she was going to “tell some shit” and “tell some lies” if she were to be voted into the house.
Mitch, 36, described himself as a massive fan of nostalgia and a ‘yuge Big Brother fan.
“I feel like Australian television doesn’t have characters like me anymore,” Mitch said in a video to win fans over.
In the end, it was revealed that Australia had voted for Jane, making her the reboot’s 13th housemate.
However, shortly after the Victoria-based granny officially entered Big Brother’s neon castle, her bio was uploaded to Network 10’s cast list, and fans spotted a minor detail that has since thrown them into a tizzy.
Per her cast bio, Jane is the oldest Australian housemate ever. She’s also a single mother with two sons and four grandsons.
However, it’s her political views that have pissed fans off.
“An avid and passionate Donald Trump lover, she aims to try to keep her political agenda quiet from the housemates,” her bio reads.
“A funny and loyal person, Jane is ready for the older generation to be represented inside the Big Brother house, and her goal is to win – it’s about time.”

Taking to X, fans have expressed their anger with the Big Brother overlords, with many aiming their disappointment towards the network for not sharing Jane’s full cast bio before she was voted in.

At the time of writing, Jane’s love for the controversial US President has not stirred up any drama in the house.
Unsurprisingly, Jane isn’t the only one who’s ruffled the public’s feathers over her personal opinions and views regarding politics.
Mega publisher Michael had some viewers pull a major eye roll over his stance on cyclists and “woke people”, and Queensland-based tradie Bruce was also tipped to shake things up due to his “strong opinions on relationships and gender roles”.
But hey, only time will tell if these beliefs surface. However, something tells me that if they do, hell will break loose and the Diary Room will have a line all the way out to Dreamland’s Taipan rollercoaster.
