BHOPAL: A 19-year-old student was allegedly taken to a hotel in Piplani locality by her school classmate on the pretext of his birthday party where he checked into a room and raped her.
When the girl protested, the accused promised to marry her. Later, when the accused refused to marry her, she reported the matter to Piplani police. Acting on her complaint, Piplani police on Wednesday registered a rape case against the accused and arrested him.
Police said that the survivor, 19, stated in her complaint that the accused was her classmate in school. After the school, he stayed in contact with her over phone and told her that he loved her and wanted to marry her.
The survivor alleged that on October 30, 2021, the accused called and said that it was his birthday for which he has organised a party at a hotel in Piplani and invited some friends. He picked her up from her home around 1pm and took her to a room on the first floor. Nobody else was present there. When the girl asked him about the party, he closed thedoor and raped her. When she protested the accused promised to marry her.
Police said that the survivor alleged that after the incident the accused left her at her home. She trusted him that he would marry her and maintained contact with him. Whenever she asked him to marry, he made excuses. When she insisted, he threatened to kill her and her family. Feeling cheated, the girl reported the matter to police.
