BHOPAL: A 14-year-old Chhatarpur-based girl was allegedly sexually harassed by a youth at her relative’s home in Kolar locality on May 9.
The case was reported at a police station in Chhatarpur on May 10 and as the incident took place under the justification of Kolar police station, the case diary was transferred here. On receiving zero FIR on Saturday, a sexual harassment case under sections of IPC was registered, police said.
Investigating officer SI Upendra Singh said that the survivor, a Class 9 student, had come to a relative's home in Kolar along with grandmother. When her grandmother was in the washroom accused Praduman, a neighbour, allegedly barged inside the house and sexually harassed her. The survivor raised an alarm and the accused fled the spot threatening her of dire consequences if she revealed about the incident to anyone. She returned home along with her grandmother and the family filed a complaint at a police station in Chhatarpur on May 10.
Police said that the accused will be arrested soon.
