BGT fans complain they've 'forgotten every single act' as show returns after months away

Britain's Got Talent finally returned this evening - but baffled fans were quickly left complaining that they had "forgotten every single act".

The ITV show offered a recap at the beginning of the show of each of the golden buzzer acts to remind fans of the auditions months ago.

BGT was forced to abandon filming the live semi-finals and final after the UK went into lockdown in March, instead moving it to later this year.

But as the programme aired this evening to reveal who had made it through to the live shows, viewers struggled to recall who they had enjoyed watching during the auditions.

Fans flocked to Twitter to comment, with one jokingly tweeting: "This must be the first load of #BGT finalists we've all forgotten about before they were even announced."

While another commented: "For once I'm glad of the recap! Genuinely can't remember a single act #BGT."

A third wrote: "Time for..... #BGT .... and I have no idea where we are with it all!!!"

"Honestly feels like it was last year since the auditions were on TV!! #BGT," another commented.

One wrote: "I don’t remember any of this. They’re expecting me to remember these people. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent."

The live semi-finals and final will air in September, but there will be one judge missing.

Simon Cowell won't be joining his co-stars David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon as he continues to recover after breaking his back.
