Best Pitchers in MLB The Show 25

Now that we’ve passed the All-Star Break and entered the backstretch of the 2025 MLB regular season, MLB The Show 25 has begun releasing some of the higher-rated content, much of which is of endgame quality. And though there are still good players to be released in the future, we’ve seen enough players come into the game to make a viable list of the best pitchers in all of MLB The Show 25, especially as it pertains to Diamond Dynasty.

In order to make this list as comprehensive as it possibly can be, we will be including both starting pitchers and relievers. Also, this list is in no particular order, as many people prefer different pitchers for different reasons. However, all of these pitchers are fixtures in the top players’ rotations and bullpens.

Also, because of the ever-changing nature of MLB The Show 25 content drops, I’ll be sure to keep tabs on whatever new cards come out. From there, I’ll either add to the list or swap names out. That said, here are five of whom I’d consider to be the best pitchers in the entire game right now.

The Best Pitchers In MLB The Show 25

Al Leiter (Standout)

Better cards have certainly emerged since the release of Al Leiter’s 95-rated Standout card. But, even with a bunch of 99s floating around, Leiter is still an incredibly effective pitcher.

His 75 walks-per-9 can certainly be better, but Leiter’s sinker has ridiculous break and looks deceptively fast, even if it only peaks at 95 MPH or so. Even with low control, you can paint corners with it, and it’s been especially good against righty hitters on the outside or up-and-in. Additionally, you can tunnel that sinker with the cutter, slider, and slow changeup to really mess with hitters’ timing.

Roger Clemens (Awards Series)

The reward for completing the Live Series collection in the American League, Roger Clemens’ Awards Series card was technically the first 99-rated pitcher in the game. And even today, he’s still incredibly effective, thanks in part to his outlier fastball, as well as his sinker and splitter.

Granted, his slider is not nearly as effective as his other pitches, and whenever I’ve used him, I’ve discovered that it is prone to hang in the strike zone due to its PAR being quite large. That said, if you mix the aforementioned fastball, sinker, and splitter while throwing the occasional slider and curveball, Clemens is still as good as any pitcher in the game. And if you have him, he’s likely in your starting rotation.

Andrew Miller (Prime Series)

For years now, Andrew Miller has always been one of the more effective relievers in MLB The Show. Despite not having any kind of outlier pitch to blow past hitters late in games, Miller’s herky-jerky motion, odd arm slot, and incredible sweeping slider make him one of the best pitchers to bring into games in high-leverage situations.

As mentioned, his primary slider is his pièce de résistance, and will be incredibly deceptive whether you’re throwing it in on the hands to righties or away from lefties. Unlike his other cards — namely, his Jolt Series card — this Miller card has a circle change, adding another effective wrinkle to his repertoire. Overall, despite being a 96-rated card, Miller’s Prime card is one of the best. If you have 30,000 Stubs lying around and need to bolster your bullpen, this card is a no-brainer.

Clayton Kershaw (Milestone Series)

In celebration of Clayton Kershaw reaching 3000 strikeouts in his illustrious career, MLB The Show 25 has given him a Milestone Series card that is definitely one of the best in the game. As per usual, Kershaw has a deadly pitch mix, boasting a deceptively quick fastball, good slider, slow 12-6 curve, circle change, and a sinker.

But the pitch mix isn’t the only thing this Kershaw card has — his delivery is incredibly hard to pick up on. Though I don’t have this card myself, every time I’ve faced it, I have issues. At the very least, I know I’m going to have to wait 3-4 innings before I can lock into the pitching motion. Kershaw’s 99 is an incredible addition to any rotation, and it can be achieved completely for free through his Players program. It does require a bit of a grind, though.

Adrian Morejon (Spotlight Series)

Are you noticing a pattern here? Yes, another lefty with an outlier primary — because it’s effective. Despite being a 96 OVR, Adrian Morejon’s Spotlight card is an extremely effective lefty you can bring in out of the pen and shut down opposing hitters. The outlier sinker is deadly and has bite to it, and it works perfectly off the cutter, slider, and fastball.
