Best pictures from Chinese New Year 2022 as Year of the Tiger starts in Liverpool

Chinese New Year 2022 celebrations took place in Liverpool today to mark the Year of the Tiger.

Despite the cold and wet weather, hundreds of people flocked to the city to see a variety of performances that combined traditional celebrations with new, contemporary concepts.

These included dragon and unicorn parades through the streets, live music on stage at Great George Square, dancing at the Bombed Out Church, 3D projections, fire performances and new artwork.
