Best Netflix top 10 shows — top 3 series you need to binge-watch this week (March 31-April 6)

Netflix logo on an orange lights background.

Looking to binge-watch a new Netflix series this week? If you turn to what's trending on the streaming service, you might find a top-tier new show in Netflix's top 10 shows list, but you can't always guarantee that what's popular deserves a spot on your watchlist.

That's why I keep a close eye on the platform's charts and whittle the Netflix top 10 shows list down to just three picks that I think are most deserving of your time every week.

Right now, my picks include the streamer's newest No. 1 show, plus a spirited, action-packed anime adaptation and a new crime thriller featuring a troubled detective. You can find more info about all three picks below, alongside a full rundown of everything that's in the Netflix top 10 shows list right now.

Note: This article is based on the Netflix U.S. top 10 as of Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Best shows in the Netflix top 10

'Detective Hole'

If you're after a gritty crime thriller, "Detective Hole" is the trending show to stream this week. This new series is another take on Jo Nesbø's Harry Hole books. It features the Norwegian writer as showrunner, and it's been received much better than the critically panned 2017 movie with Michael Fassbender, "The Snowman.

This first series adapts Nesbø's fifth Harry Hole book, "The Devil's Star," and sees the legendary anti-hero (played by Tobias Santelmann) tracking down a serial killer while butting heads with his rival, detective Tom Waaler (Joel Kinnaman). If you like Nordic noir, it's an intriguing new watch that's sure to draw you in.

'One Piece'

Netflix's live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's legendary "One Piece" series returned in early March, but clearly some fans are still locked in on the Straw Hats' quest, as the series hasn't slipped out of the top 10 just yet.

Almost three years after Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his crew set sail, "One Piece: Into the Grand Line" sees them embarking on even bigger adventures in even deadlier waters. The Grand Line harbors danger at every turn, and as they continue to search for Gold Roger's ultimate treasure, the crew meet new pals, dock at strange new islands, and cross paths with formidable new foes. Season 2 is arguably even more fun than the first chapter, and well worth streaming if you're yet to tune in.

'Something Very Bad is Going to Happen'

Netflix's latest No. 1 watch is a new horror series produced by the Duffer Brothers. Haley Z. Boston's "Something Very Bad is Going to Happen" is pitched as an "atmospheric horror series" that takes us down the aisle alongside Rachel (Camila Morrone) and Nicky (Adam DiMarco), in the run-up to their wedding.

The happy couple is due to tie the knot in just five days when we meet them. In the lead-up, Rachel sets off on a road trip to Nicky's family vacation home, but she's prone to feelings of paranoia. And if that title didn't give it away already: yes, Rachel's superstitions are well-placed. "Something Very Bad is Going to Happen" is really good at creating that uneasy feeling of anticipation, and if you're looking for a scare or two, it's definitely worth checking out.
