Mistfall Hunter is now out on PC and consoles worldwide, and you can tweak a fair bit of settings to get the best possible performance. Despite having a setup that comfortably passes the recommended requirements, I did encounter lag and stutters.
Thankfully, a few tweaks eased those problems.
Best Mistfall Hunter graphics settings
Here’s my setup that I am currently using to play the game.
- AMD Radeon 9060XT 16 GB
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
- 32 GB of DDR4 RAM
While my system can comfortably run the game after making a few tweaks, my focus for this guide has been slightly different. I have gone for settings that will help those whose setup is closer to the minimum requirements rather than the recommended settings.
- Window Mode: borderless window if you have multiple screens
- Vertical Sync: Off. Turn this on if you are encountering lags. While you will give up a few frames, the overall results will be much smoother.
- Frame Rate Limit: 60. I have tried 90 and Unlimited, and both seem to cause some stutters.
- Brightness: Persona preference
- Color Blindness: As applicable
- Overall Quality Preset: Custom
- Ant-Aliasing Type: FSR if you’re on AMD and TSR if you’re on Nvidia.
- FSR Mode: Balance/Performance
- FSR Frame Generation: Off
- AMD Anto-Lag2: On
- Ray Tracing: Off
- Shadow Quality: Low
- View Distance: Moderate/High
- Character Animation Quality: Balance
- Texture Quality: Low/Moderate
- SFX Quality: Low/Moderate
- Post-Processing: Moderate
- Motion Blur: Off
- Global Illumination: Moderate
- Use GPU Crash Debugging: On
Once I put the 60 FPS cap on, the performance significantly improved. I believe we will get a few post-launch patches that will ease the problem because I should be able to run the game at 90 FPS without any struggles. 60 FPS and smooth gameplay seems like a very sweet spot, irrespective of which role (a.k.a. class) you pick.
