If you’re shopping for tech, there will be a few destinations on your list, Currys chief amongst them.
Whether you’re after a new pair of cans to block out the commute, a laptop to end the circle of doom when you’re trying to WFH, or a replacement washing machine when yours goes on the blink, Currys can be counted upon as a one-stop tech shop.
And while good tech doesn’t exactly come cheap, savvy buyers know to wait for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when prices typically fall to their lowest point of the entire year.
When is Black Friday 2025?
This year, Black Friday falls on November 28. The date moves every year, but it’s always on the final Friday of the month, of which November has five this year.
When does Black Friday end?
The shopping bonanza, which began in Philadelphia, USA and is now a global event, continues all weekend, with most sales wrapping up on the following Monday, known as Cyber Monday. This is usually when all things tech are in the discount spotlight, so if your nerves can take waiting all weekend, this is the best time to make your move.
Why is it called Black Friday?
A catchy name with shady origins, the real explanation of the black in Black Friday has been lost in the sands of time. Is it because the discounts steer you out of the red? Perhaps it’s down to the traffic fumes from shoppers driving to physical stores to snap up gems (frankly, another reason to shop the entire sale online).
What Black Friday discounts can I expect?
Last year’s sale saw everything from PS5s and robot vacuums to Samsung’s much lauded The Frame smart TV in Currys sale. Fitness fans were treated to Apple watch discounts, while second-gen airpods also featured in the sale. Slightly less exciting, but no less useful, Currys sale saw toasters and top-of-the-line vacuum cleaners on offer too. All signs point to a bigger and better performance come November this year.
