Best builds in CloverPit

CloverPit is another indie hit, utilizing roguelike elements and combining them with gambling mechanics, chiefly slot machines.

Each pull hides vast rewards and a good chunk of change, with your odds modified by various upgrades and Lucky Charms, all the while an ominous presence ups your debt the more you pay it off.

Getting to those incredible high levels and numbers takes a lot of preparation and optimization, so here's a few builds to get you going in CloverPit.

Most optimal builds in CloverPit

Since there's truly no one best build in CloverPit for gaining the greatest amount of money, we'll separate these builds into one that should get you through the unlocks and challenges (to get more drawers and, ultimately, beat the game), one that'll be more optimized but fail to scale into infinity, and one that'll surely gain you bragging rights.

These three builds all revolve around some key systems, mainly the fruits (Lemons and Cherries), with the advanced ones built to scale as your interest grows, essentially creating an infinitely growing build that only loses when you ALT+F4 out of the game.

Getting the necessary reward for any given Drawer Key is pretty straightforward and shouldn't pose too much of an issue to you, no matter the Lucky Charm build you have. Tremendously low luck needs to happen to break a standard run, but safeguarding never hurt anyone. So, the Lucky Charms you should be mindful of are the following:

  • Golden Lemon and Golden Cherry (can turn either gold, increasing their value each time it procs)
  • Mushrooms (buffs patterns for more money, synergizes well with Luck)
  • Fruit Basket (every pattern with fruits triggers a second time)
  • Rotated Hamsa (gives a good chunk of Luck for your final spin)
  • Wood and Bricks (enables the fruits to have an interest-based modifier, granting 50 percent of your interest each time it procs)

These Lucky Charms should help you earn a lot of money quickly, though I'd definitely also take the Lemon Picture and Cherry Picture for safe measure, since they'll increase the frequency of fruits during each spin. Speaking of which, any fruit-related appearance modifier should be taken from the phone upgrades after every deadline, given how much your run relies on them. The more you see, the greater the odds to upgrade their value, as well as to rake in a ton of cash.

Good other options include Fake Coin for an extra spin and Luck, Red Pepper for more Luck, and Cat Food that grants two more spins. Naturally, anything that gives extra Lucky Charm space should be considered, though if it's a phone upgrade, and you have to choose between that and a fruit-related buff, pick the latter instead.

Best build for unlocks

Now, if you've started the game and don't have access to as many Lucky Charms as you should for the ultimate build, this option and combination of items should ensure you unlock as much as possible each time you fire up the slot machine. It's a simple build but one that should ensure you get to at least the billions, if not the e+10 range.

Naturally, it also revolves around fruits, specifically lemons, which are, alongside cherries, the most frequently-appearing symbol on the machine, and therefore the easiest to utilize.

These are the recommended Charms:

  • Naughty Dealer
  • Lucky Cat/Chonky Cat
  • Mushrooms
  • Stain
  • Golden Lemon
  • Pentacle
  • Lemon Picture
  • Property Certificate

The above, in combination with appearance modifiers, Charm space upgrades, and pattern/symbol multipliers, will make any given run as easy as it can be. It got me to 1.0931e+012 coins, with the run itself going on for nearly an hour. Fruit repeat upgrades, received via the phone, will also make short work of most deadlines, pushing you through the game with only slight challenge.

The go-to strategy here is ensuring you've deposited all of your money after each round, increasing the interest and therefore your earning potential. The Naughty Dealer is unlocked rather early in the game and grants the same interest modifier added by Wood and Bricks, the difference being it applies to every symbol and not just the fruits. This'll ensure that even an unlucky pull where you get no fruit turns out profitable, even if not equally.

On the other hand, fruit repetitions (or repeat traits for symbols) add up as pattern triggers, meaning Pentacle and the Lucky or Chonky Cats will often be triggering, boosting your overall multipliers and granting an ungodly amount of interest money. Speaking of which, any Charm trait improving interest is recommended, as it directly increases how much money you earn per spin.

More Luck is also recommended if available, since it improves the odds of your getting a good pattern, and therefore a great multiplier. However, your build ultimately depends on the interest being triggered, so everything else isn't as important. All you want is as many lemons with interest attached spawning, which the Lemon Picture will also help with.

The ultimate infinitely scaling build in CloverPit

When you've gotten yourself a lot of cool unlocks, you can craft a very powerful build that should (ideally) scale into infinity, allowing you to play as much as you want, i.e., until you get bored. You can't lose with this build more or less, though Luck can just not go your way, though that shouldn't happen before you're in the trillions.

Considering that you have unlocked most Lucky Charms in the game, these are the ones you should consider (and yes, lemons are at its core):

  • Golden Lemon
  • Lemon Picture
  • Number 1
  • Nuclear Button
  • Electrician
  • Naughty Dealer
  • Stonks
  • Grandma's Purse
  • Bricks
  • D4
  • Lucky Coin
  • Horseshoe
  • Clicker

Alongside these Lucky Charms, you should prioritize, by all means, any sort of phone upgrade that increases lemon appearance or grants pattern repetitions, since activating the interest modifiers is your top priority in this build. It scales almost into infinity, but still depends largely on good luck to be pulled off into the very late game.

Speaking of late game, any sort of symbol or pattern modifier tends to become utterly worthless once you get into super high deadlines, so the likes of the Golden Lemon should probably be avoided. Additionally, purchasing single-use Lucky Charms will be another major consideration, as the likes of Briefcase and Ankh can save your run entirely.

There are builds that almost completely ignore the slot machine and depend on infinite rerolls and Briefcase purchases, but I found them generally unfun and wanted to stick to the game's core loop. Anyhow, you'll still have to buy them from time to time, ensuring you pickup Charm space upgrades along the way, either from the phone or the Charm store.

Relying on red button activations is key here as well, as it'll significantly increase the odds of lemons appearing, while other Charms buff them with great infinitely-scaling modifiers, all of which are based on interest. Deposit all the money you have each round into the ATM, but don't skip rounds: that one extra round will earn you a lot of money, making sure you start the next deadline with extra cash and, by extension, more interest.
