The leaves are changing, and temperatures have plummeted and for us, that means one thing. No, not Christmas. Something even better.

Bargain hunters everywhere can rejoice as Black Friday is fast approaching. The ultimate discount event gets bigger and better every year and if you thought it was just tech on offer, we’re happy to tell you that you’re sorely mistaken.

In fact, the opposite is true. While for many years, Black Friday and certainly Cyber Monday was synonymous with discounts across TVs, laptops, headphones and smartwatches (and you will find them dramatically reduced), it’s elsewhere that the real fun begins.

We’re talking specifically about the beauty discounts (as well as fashion, furniture and air fryers). It is Black Friday, and Black Friday alone when some of our favourite skincare, makeup, hair and fragrances are reduced and this is your official sign to stock up your bathroom cabinet and plan ahead for Christmas.

With the likes of Glossier, La Mer, ghd, Oral-B and more all getting in on the discount action, there is never a better time to upgrade your beauty gadgets as well as scoop up the products you use on a daily basis for a fraction of the cost.

When is Black Friday?

The official start date of Black Friday is November 24, but you may find that some of the discounts start earlier than that.

What is Black Friday?

Almost every retailer under the sun takes part in Black Friday. This is the name given to the sales event that always takes place the day after our friends across the Atlantic celebrate Thanksgiving. Once stuffed to the brim with turkey and feel-good gratitude, we take to the shops - be it virtual or in-person - to stock up on pre-Christmas deals. It has become a worldwide discount weekend that ends on Cyber Monday.

When does Black Friday end?

Cyber Monday is the name given to the Monday that follows Black Friday. It is the culmination of the discounts and offers the last chance saloon to get your hands on the epic bargains. It will be taking place this year on November 28.

What kind of beauty deals can we expect?

Strap in because last year, we saw 70 per cent off LOOKFANTASTIC, 69 per cent of Superdrug, 50 per cent off Coco & Eve and up to 50 per cent off L’Occitane. There was also 50 per cent off FOREO, Isle of Paradise and Modibodi’s selection of reusable period pants.
