BENGALURU: A 54-year-old police sub-inspector was found hanging at his residence in Subedarpalya, Mathikere, on Sunday evening.
Yeshwantpur police identified the deceased as Sudarshan Shetty, attached with South CEN crime police station.
The incident came to light around 8.30pm when a family member went to his room to call him for dinner. Police suspect he might have taken the extreme step due to depression.
Shetty was treated at a rehabilitation centre after slipped into depression, his family said.
Yeshwantpur police have registered a case of an unnatural death and further probe is under way.
