Bengals set worst attendance mark in Paul Brown Stadium history in 2019

The Cincinnati Bengals couldn’t convince fans to get to Paul Brown Stadium often in 2019 despite it being the beginning of a new era under the guidance of Zac Taylor.

According to ESPN, the Bengals had a home average of just 47,179, planting them 31st. But that’s only second-to-last thanks to the stadium the Los Angeles Chargers play at each week.

The percentage sitting at just 72.0 on the year is what paints the Bengals dead last. And according to ESPN’s Ben Baby, the number in the 47,000 range is the wost season attendance in the history of Paul Brown Stadium. The 377,000 number is the worst outright Bengals number since 1993.

It’s only fitting at least one of the numbers matches the 90s considering the 2-14 effort, including the worst start in franchise history, certainly vibed of the 90s again. Keep in mind the reported numbers are sold tickets, not necessarily a headcount of ticketholders who actually showed up at games.

The good news for the Bengals? The only way to go is up — especially if a certain quarterback prospect comes to town via the first overall pick,
