Bengals safety Clayton Fejedelem carted off during preseason game vs. Chiefs

The Cincinnati Bengals didn’t make it through one quarter of preseason action before suffering an injury setback.

Safety Clayton Fejedelem went down in the opening quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night and needed a cart to leave the field.

Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com captured the moment: “Fej carted off with what appears to be lower leg injury after blitzing”

Fejedelem has been a breakout player for the Bengals as of late thanks to his abilities on special teams and his rotational role alongside other safeties like Shawn Williams and Jessie Bates.

While the Bengals will await official word on Fej’s injury, needing a cart to exit the playing field isn’t a good sign. If he has to miss time, the Bengals suddenly have a problem on multiple units.
