Bengals LB Logan Wilson could miss extended time with shoulder injury

Early this week, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor provided injury updates on Joe Burrow and Logan Wilson, suggesting the team hopes the breakout linebacker will only miss one game.

While the team hopes Wilson can avoid injured reserve, new reporting from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler makes it seem like an IR designation could be on the way soon:

“Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson is expected to miss an extended period of time with his shoulder injury, per source. Bengals are hopeful it’s only one or two games but it’s probably going to be longer than that. Wilson having breakout season with 92 tackles, four interceptions.”

Wilson left the field on a cart during last Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

If Wilson does head to injured reserve, the team might be in the market for linebacker help with Markus Bailey also suffering a setback last week and Akeem Davis-Gaither already sidelined.

If Wilson only misses two games, he’d be back in time for a Week 16 showdown with Baltimore. The week after is a game against Kansas City, then the season finale against Cleveland — all critical AFC matchups when it comes to playoff seeding.

With Wilson sidelined, Germaine Pratt takes over the communications headset in the heart of the defense.
