The Cincinnati Bengals released their first depth chart Monday, right on schedule ahead of the team’s preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
There aren’t too many surprises on the list. For now, John Jerry is listed as the starter at left guard even though Trey Hopkins has been getting consistent work with the first team.
On defense, Sam Hubbard gets the nod as a starter on the end opposite Carlos Dunlap.
As Bengals fans will probably remember from the Marvin Lewis era, the depth charts are merely a formality. Camp practice on the same day hasn’t 100 percent reflected it, so the deployment against the Chiefs likely won’t, either.
