Bengals hosted two players on tryouts ahead of Week 18

With their litany of injuries and COVID issues entering Week 18, the Cincinnati Bengals are dipping their toes across the border for some potential help.

Per the league’s transaction wire, the Bengals worked out a pair of players from the Canadian Football League: OL Drew Desjarlais and LB Nyles Morgan.

Desjarlais, 24 years old, is a 6’2″, 314-pound lineman who has played two seasons for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and started all 14 games and two playoff games for the 2021 Grey Cup-winning Blue Bombers. Desjarlais played his college football at the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. He was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 CFL Draft and also spent time as a rookie in 2019 with the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers at their minicamps. Desjarlais also worked out for the New England Patriots this week.

Morgan, 25, is a 6’1″, 235-pound linebacker out of Notre Dame. He has 66 tackles on defense and six tackles on special teams plus one sack in 13 games this season for the Edmonton Elks.

In four seasons at Notre Dame, Morgan played in 50 games and totaled 250 tackles, including 186 in his last two seasons with the Irish, with 16.5 tackles for a loss and six sacks.
