Bengals fans will love expert’s take on whether Joe Burrow is back

Most Cincinnati Bengals fans would probably agree that Joe Burrow looked nearly back to his normal self during last week’s win over Seattle, which helps boost the confidence that he’ll continue to improve.

But it sure doesn’t hurt to hear it from an expert, either.

An offer for Bengals fans

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer recently had an excellent breakdown of Burrow’s play and even looped in what at least one person from within the organization had to say on the topic:

“He was a different player,” one staffer said.

And that showed up on some of his biggest plays against the Cardinals, both in how he was moving and the confidence with which he was moving. Adding to it was that it came after he told coaches the whole week he was good with the calf and gave them the green light to move him around more than they had over the season’s first four weeks.

As Breer goes on to point out, this doesn’t mean the Bengals won’t be careful with Burrow from here, especially not with a week of rest coming up because of the bye.

But it’s very clear that when Burrow says this is as close to 100 percent as he’s been, outsider observers should be all-in on the idea.
