Ben Shephard leaves Good Morning Britain as Tipping Point set to restart

Ben Shephard is set to leave Good Morning Britain to concentrate on other projects.

Ben's co-host Kate Garraway made the announcement on the show today.

Kate said: "This is Ben's last day, you're going and having a bit of time off aren't you."

Ben replied: "I'm not having time off at all, we're about to hit peak Tipping Point, Tipping Point series 11, back in the studio, all back at it socially distanced.

"I think I might be doing a live with Andi (Peters) in a couple of weeks as he's doing Lorraine.

"But yeah sets have had to change to get everything up and running.

Ben's replacement has not yet been announced.

Ben and Kate are incredibly close and Ben helped Kate return to work after months, as her husband battled coronavirus in hospital.

Kate's husband Derek remains in hospital, but doctors urged her to return to work as Derek's recovery could take months, after the virus ravaged his body.
