Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway bid Good Morning Britain star Pip Tomson an emotional farewell

Good Morning Britain correspondent Pip Tomson held back tears as she was wished farewell by presenters Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway. Pip thanked the hosts, and the rest of the GMB team, as she confirmed her exit from the ITV show, reports the Mirror Online.

An emotional Pip said: "It's been an absolute joy - what you see at home is really what it's like, it's a great family, everybody is just amazing to work with."

Kate said she was excited for Pip and her future, telling Pip she would be a "huge loss to us on the team and me personally". Ben added: "Excited for your adventures, Thank you for being a lovely part of the team."

"Why are you leaving then?," Ben questioned as Pip began to break down in tears. Kate exclaimed: "Don't cry," as Pip composed herself and added: "I know, but new adventures await and it's just time. But it's been fabulous so thank you everybody."

Entertainment editor Richard Arnold interjected and joked: "Are we working in the same place?"

"She doesn't crossover with you very often," Kate quipped before Pip cheekily joked: "I've got a load of cash in my back pocket from the boss for saying that."

Pip took to Twitter to announce her departure and praise the Good Morning Britain team.

One fan replied: "You are very talented. I wish you well for the future," and another added: "One of the loveliest people in the telly business. Good luck, Pip!"

A third added: "Good luck with the new challenge, hopefully it will see you on screen more often Pip," while someone else shared: "Good luck pip thanks for all your fabulous reports.
