Bellator 232 results: ‘Baby Slice’ returns from year-long layoff, elbows foe unconscious

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – One year after he suffered his second career loss, “Baby Slice” is back in the win column.

Kevin Ferguson Jr., defeated Craig Campbell by a quick first-round TKO Saturday night at Bellator 232. The son of the late Kimbo Slice needed just 38 seconds for the finish.

From the opening bell, Ferguson (4-2 MMA, 4-2 BMMA) was throwing haymakers. When Campbell (3-4 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) shot for a takedown against the fence, Slice stuffed him. In a manner that would make Travis Browne proud Ferguson hammered the side of the temple of Campbell until he slumped over unconscious.

The victory was Ferguson’s fourth inside the Bellator cage. Prior to Bellator 231, Ferguson had not competed since Bellator 207 in October 2018. In what was his second career loss, Ferguson was upset by underdog Cory Browning.

According to Ferguson, he tore his ACL in the fight which put him out of action for 12 months. At a pre-fight media day Ferguson told MMA Junkie his knee still hasn’t recovered.

As for Campbell, the promotional newcomer has lost three out of his last four opponents having competed for LFA/Legacy FC and Summit FC among others.

The 160-pound bout opened up the Bellator 232 main card at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card streamed on DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie.
