Bellator 224 weigh-in results: Julia Budd, Olga Rubin hit marks for title fight

THACKERVILLE, Okla. – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Thursdays early and official Bellator 224 fighter weigh-ins, where the title-fight headliners hit their marks.

In the main event, women’s featherweight champion Julia Budd (12-2 MMA, 6-0 BMMA) takes on unbeaten challenger Olga Rubin (6-0 MMA, 4-0 BMMA). Budd weighed in first and was 145 pounds on the dot. Rubin weighed in immediately after the champ and was 143.5 to make the fight official.

On the prelims, Sinead Kavanagh (5-3 MMA, 2-3 BMMA) missed weight for her fight against UFC veteran Leslie Smith (10-7-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA), who is returning to the promotion for the first time since Bellator 7. Kavanagh was 147.7 pounds and will be fined a portion of her fight purse. Smith was 145.4.

The early weigh-ins took place at WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Okla., and preceded the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which take place at 12:30 p.m. ET at MIST inside WinStar World Casino & Resort.
