Belfast traffic delays expected on Saturday due to Somme parade

Traffic delays are to be expected on Saturday afternoon due to a parade taking place in Belfast city centre.

The Somme Commemoration parade is set to make its way through the city from Saturday afternoon, July 2. The Sandy Row District Loyal Orange Lodge and flute bands are taking part in the procession.

Police have advised motorists they should expect delays from 2.30pm onwards.

Delays are set to impact Sandy Row, Donegall Road, Shaftsbury Square, Botanic Avenue, Posnett Street, Vernon Street, Walnut Street, Donegall Pass, Shaftsbury Square, Dublin Road, Bruce Street, Hope Street, Sandy Row, Donegall Road, Glenmachan Street, Tates Avenue, Lisburn Road, Sandy Row.

The parade should be over around 6pm approximately, and traffic should return to normal afterwards.

There may be some disruption to traffic, so motorists are advised to seek an alternative route to avoid any potential delays.
