Belfast takeaway Pizza Cabin in warning over fake bank notes

A Belfast takeaway restaurant has issued a warning to people regarding the use of fake bank notes.

Pizza Cabin on the Shankill Road has said that there are fake £10 bank notes in circulation that look and feel almost like real ones.

It is highlighted the difference between a real bank note and the fake ones that it has seen, saying that the holographic marker on the fake notes is coloured orange, where the real ones are clear.

There is also no marking of a tower on it.

The takeaway took to social media to warn customers and other businesses regarding the bank notes, telling them to be vigilant with their money in the coming months.

It said: "Fakes £10 notes are circulating! The bottom one is the fake. They feel the exact same, the bottom one has the orange bit where it should be silver and no tower? In the clear bit.

"Just thought I would share to make people aware to check £10 notes from now on.

"We will check all notes.

"Please be vigilant with your money in the coming months."
