Masked men attacked a flat in Belfast with bricks and fireworks over the weekend, police have confirmed.

It was around 9.30pm on Sunday, January 16, when a group of masked men reportedly attacked the first floor flat in Drumart Green, Belvoir Estate.

A window was broken and a lit firework thrown inside causing scorch damage to a room in the flat.

Two people living in the flat did not report any injuries. They have since left the property.

The group of males reportedly walked off in the direction of Dunseverick Avenue from Drumart Green following the incident.

Police are now appealing to the public for help.
