Belfast parades set to cause traffic delays as diversions in place

A number of diversions will be in place across Belfast on Thursday evening due to parades.

The PSNI advised road users to expect delays during rush hour traffic as the 'Mini Twelfth' is set to take place.

A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: "Road users are advised to expect delays in Belfast this evening from 5.30pm this afternoon through to 10pm due to a number of parades.

"In East Belfast, road users should consider alternative routes for this evening’s rush hour, as there will be diversions in place in the Cromac Street, Oxford Street, Albertbridge Road and Woodstock Road areas from 5.30 pm.

"Minor disruption can be expected from 6pm through to 9.30pm in the Shankill Road, Peters Hill, and Clifton Street areas.

"Between 7pm and 10pm, there will be further traffic disruption at locations across East Belfast, including the Albertbridge Road, Ravenhill Road, Castlereagh Road and Woodstock Road areas.

"Alternative routes are available, but road users are asked to plan their journeys in advance and take into account the potential for delays."
