Belfast house 'explosion' sparks emergency response

Emergency crews attended the scene of an 'explosion' in Belfast last night that caused damage to a home.

The incident unfolded around 11.20pm in Lagmore Meadows in the west of the city with the police, fire service and ambulance service all rushing to the incident.

A NIFRS spokesman told Belfast Live: "An air freshener canister left on top of a glass-fronted fire had exploded. There was nothing sinister, it was accidental.

"Two appliances attended the scene in Belfast. Two windows of the house were damaged.

"A 39-year-old female in the property at the time slipped and suffered an injury."
