A Belfast flight was forced to return to the airport after taking off due to a 'technical fault'.
The Flybe Belfast to Birmingham flight left George Best Belfast City Airport before 7pm on Wednesday evening, July 24.
But it was forced to return to the airport not long afterwards and emergency services were waiting on the scene after a minor technical fault was reported.
A spokeswoman for the airport confirmed the flight left the airport and returned due to a 'technical fault' and everyone had disembarked the plane.
The police were seen rushing to the scene and the fire service were also pictured on the tarmac. Bangor Coastguard Rescue Team, Bangor, Donaghadee and Larne RNLI lifeboats were also called to attend the incident.
A spokesperson for the airline said: " Flybe can confirm that the BE415 Belfast City - Birmingham flight returned safely from airborne this evening as a precautionary measure following a suspected minor technical issue with the aircraft.
"As is normal procedure, the airport placed its emergency vehicles on standby.
"The safety of its passengers and crew is the airline’s number one priority at all times and Flybe would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience experienced."
