Belfast Cathedral Quarter seafood restaurant Prawnagraphic to close

A restaurant in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter has announced it will be closing at its current location.

Prawnagraphic, a seafood restaurant located on Hill Street, had only opened its doors earlier this year.

The latest brand from Made In Belfast owner Emma Bricknell, the restaurant was called a "passion project coming out of lockdown" and was aimed at bringing something exciting for seafood lovers.

However, the restaurant shared the news on their social media pages that they wouldn't be reopening and they are currently on the hunt for new premises for a pop-up prawn shop.

The restaurant owner also cited an "ongoing problem with the sewers and drains" which had "made almost everything impossible" for Prawnagraphic.

Their full statement announcing the closure reads: "There are times in life when you have to admit that things just haven’t worked out the way you wanted them to….like a bad boyfriend

"Prawnagraphic was our passion coming out of lockdown, something new and exciting for seafood lovers all over Belfast.

"However, sadly towards the end we became Poopagraphic as the ongoing problem with the sewers and drains made almost everything impossible.

"So we’ve made a really big decision. We’re closing Prawnagraphic for now and we are on the hunt for new premises for our pop-up prawn shop.

"We may be gone for now, but not forever!

"Thanks to the team and all those involved for making sexy fish happen x"
