Belfast cafés' brilliant gesture in support of World Autism Week

A number of Belfast cafés' have offered a brilliant gesture during World Autism Week.

A quiet hour will take place at them on Friday, April 1, with no music, lights dimmed and 50% off food bills if eating inside.

This will happen at a number of Ability Cafés including The Stables on Upper Malone Road, The Foundry Café on the Shankill Road and Belfast Zoo.

They said: "In support of World Autism Week, we will be running QUIET HOUR in all of our cafés tomorrow morning [Friday] from 10am-11am.

"During this time we will be offering 50% off total food bill for people eating indoors.

"Quiet hour will incorporate things like lower lighting, no music and or noisy machinery!"

World Autism Awareness Day falls on April 2, with World Autism Acceptance Week taking place from March 28 to April 3.
