Belfast band 'delighted' to be opening for Gerry Cinnamon at Belsonic next week

Belfast band Dea Matrona have been announced as a support act for Gerry Cinnamon, who will perform two gigs in the city next weekend.

Gerry Cinnamon is set to take to the stage for Belsonic on Friday September 10 and Saturday September 11, where he will perform in front of over 10,000 fans. This will mark the Scottish singer's biggest ever series of gigs in Belfast.

Now, it has been announced that Belfast rock trio Dea Matrona will open for the Scottish singer on both dates.

The band, who are made up of Mollie McGinn, Orlaith Forsythe and Mamie McGinn, won over thousands of fans across the world for their viral videos, which saw them covering classic rock songs on the streets of Belfast.

They were then propelled further into the limelight with a series of original singles released in the last two years, as well as recent tour dates at Stendhal Festival, Reading & Leeds and the O2 Forum in Kent.

Now, the trio will have the chance to perform in front of their biggest ever audience.

Sharing the news, the band said: "Delighted to announce we will be playing Belsonic next week on both the 10 & 11th September supporting Gerry Cinnamon Who’s coming?"

English indie rock band Circa Waves will also support Gerry Cinnamon on both nights.

The Scottish singer's performance on Saturday, September 11, is sold out, but tickets are still available for his Friday night performance.
