'Beautiful' mum was 'taken too soon' as tributes pour in

Tributes have poured in for a mum-of-one who died days after feeling unwell with what she thought was a cold, as ECHO readers extended condolences to her family and friends.

Jeanine Jones, 34, from Eastham died at Arrowe Park Hospital on Wednesday, April 28, after suffering complications of endocarditis.

The mum of one, who leaves behind a two year old daughter, Phoebe, had previously battled the rare heart infection after developing sepsis following a difficult birth in December 2018 and had a heart operation to fit a new valve.

Jeanine, a support worker with Autism Together, had been admitted to Arrowe Park Hospital after she began to complain of feeling unwell with what she believed was a cold caught from her two year old daughter, but was diagnosed with endocarditis.

Her condition deteriorated while in hospital and Jeanine died the following day.

Jeanine's family told the ECHO they want to raise awareness of how quickly endocarditis, a rare heart infection which causes inflammation of the lining of the heart, can deteriorate as mum Alison paid tribute to her "kind-hearted, loving daughter."
