DETROIT _ With no Lions fans in the stands to boo, Bears players' shouts rose up to the Ford Field roof as Matthew Stafford's pass fell incomplete in the final seconds Sunday.
With that incompletion, the Bears had completed an improbable comeback from 17 points down to earn a 27-23 victory over the Lions.
Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky hit wide receiver Anthony Miller with a diving 27-yard touchdown catch with 1:54 to play to give the Bears a 27-23 lead over the Lions.
The touchdown was just the second play of a Bears comeback drive that started with cornerback Kyle Fuller's first interception of the season. Fuller grabbed a batted Matthew Stafford pass out of the air and returned it 5 yards to give the Bears the ball at the Lions' 37-yard line with 2:45 to play.
After David Montgomery's 5-yard run and a Lions neutral-zone infraction, Trubisky hit Miller with a beautiful pass right where Miller needed it to score in the right corner of the end zone.
That capped a comeback from being down 23-6 in the third quarter.
The Lions had a chance to win it in the final minutes, marching all the way to the Bears' 16-yard line. But Stafford's passes to D'Andre Swift and Marvin Jones Jr. fell incomplete, with rookie cornerback Jaylon Johnson covering Jones on the final play.
The win was the Bears' fifth out of five meetings in the Matt Nagy era.
