Bears DT Bilal Nichols has broken hand, not expected to play vs. Redskins

The Bears look to be without an important piece of their defensive line come Monday night.

Second-year defensive tackle Bilal Nichols broke his hand on Sunday against the Broncos, coach Matt Nagy confirmed Thursday.

Nagy doesn’t expect Nichols to play Monday night against the Redskins. He discussed the possibility of Nichols wearing a “club” in the coming weeks, much like Leonard Floyd last season.

On Monday, Nagy said he didn’t believe the injury would land Nichols on injured reserve, and he confirmed as much on Thursday.

Luckily for the Bears, they’re deep at the defensive line position with starting defensive end Akiem Hicks, nose tackle Eddie Goldman and reserve Roy Robertson-Harris.
