Beaconside to get £9.4m boost as part of latest Barratt Homes development

A district in Staffordshire will receive a multi-million pound boost on the back of an upcoming development by Barratt Homes.

The housing developer has pledged to invest £9.4 million in Beaconside and its surrounding areas as part of a planning agreement for the upcoming Bertelin Fields development.

The funding - which totals £9,409,670 - will help to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents, including £5.1 million for a new primary school.

Elsewhere, contributions will also be made to secondary school provision, open space, allotments and transport.

The new development will provide a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes.

Adrian Evans, managing director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: "Investing into local communities is an extremely important part of building a new housing development. We pride ourselves on our commitment to the local community and strive to support it wherever we can.

"As our development progresses, we will not only be contributing to the area financially, but the construction process at the whole development will underpin 920 jobs for the local area."
