MUMBAI: BCCI secretary Jay Shah has invited India's Under-19 World Cup-winning team to watch the third T20I between India and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 1.
The India Women's Under-19 team won the inaugural youth World Cup on Sunday, beating England by seven wickets in the final at Potchefstroom, South Africa, after skittling them out for just 68.
The triumph ended India’s long wait in women’s cricket for a World Cup. The BCCI secretary is likely to felicitate the Shafali-led side before the match.
"I invite @TheShafaliVerma and her victorious team to join us at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and witness the third T20I on 1st February. This humongous achievement surely calls for a celebration. @BCCI@BCCIWomen," Shah tweeted on Sunday.
