The One Show viewers couldn't help but make the same comment as Adrian Chiles appeared on the show. The TV star was on the programme on Tuesday night (January 17) to chat to Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas about his new book.
Adrian, who hosted The One Show himself from 2007 to 2011, has put pen to paper for the new book, titled The Good Drinker: How I Learned to Love Drinking Less., which is said to see him exploring "the unsung pleasures of drinking in moderation."
The broadcaster and columnist took a seat on the show's famous green sofa alongside actress Naomi Ackie, who is currently wowing audiences as Whitney Houston in the new biopic about the late singing superstar, titled Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody.
But fans of the BBC show were all left saying the same thing when Adrian took over from Alex and Jermaine and started asking Naomi his own questions. "What about the accent?" he quizzed. The Brit movie star, from east London, explained that it took her six months to learn how to speak like the late singer.
Adrian then continued: "Really, how do you do that then?" Turning to The One Show's actually hosting duo, the 55-year-old said: "Sorry, I'm just..." While Alex laughed, Jermaine told him: "Go on, Adrian!" before cheekily adding: "I've got a cup of tea for you here..."
And Adrian didn't stop as he continued to quiz Naomi on how she mastered Whitney's voice. "Could you summon it straight up?" Before requesting: "You couldn't do Mary Had A Little Lamb in Whitney Houston's accent?" after sharing how she had sung for him backstage.
And those watching the interviews unfold were quick to post on social media. @CannedWildlife tweeted: "Nice to see Adrian Chiles interviewing Naomi Ackie, despite being a guest haha. He was one of the orignal presenters @BBCTheOneShow #TheOneShow." @topgooner100 said: "Adrian Chiles fishing for his old job back here?? #TheOneShow."
@lindseykelsall joked: "This #AdrianChiles chap is decent on #TheOneShow make a good presenter." @FacileTalk quipped: "Adrian Chiles looks like he's just been woken up after sleeping behind #TheOneShow couch for over 12 years." But @PatelBropodcast added: "Adrian Charles takes over the show...never let's anyone else talk. You know the producers are saying, please shut this man up. #TheOneShow."
