BBC The Apprentice: Why Bradley Johnson didn't leave in a taxi despite being fired

The latest episode of BBC’s The Apprentice saw a shock double firing as Lord Sugar’s search for his next business partner continued. The episode, which aired on Thursday, March 2, saw candidates Bradley Johnson and Avi Sharma sent packing from the iconic boardroom.

Project manager Bradley was fired on the spot after it was announced his team had received no orders for their face wash called Anti-Venom, which turned people's skin green. Lord Sugar said that he never wanted to see Bradley's face in the boardroom again, and called him a “disgrace”. The business tycoon then fired Avi but told him to “keep in touch” and keep his “enthusiasm up”.

The double firing wasn’t the only thing that shocked viewers, though. While Avi was shown leaving the boardroom in a taxi as usual, Bradley's exit was never aired.

Why wasn't Bradley's exit shown on The Apprentice?

After being asked to leave the boardroom, Bradley thanked Lord Sugar for the opportunity and took both himself and his suitcase out of the building. Whereas other candidates have been shown leaving in the back of a taxi, Bradley didn't receive this courtesy.

But this isn't actually an uncommon thing. In the past, when more than one person has been fired, only the second person fired's exit is shown. This series of The Apprentice has also seen candidates Shannon Martin and Reece Donnelly leave without a proper exit. Viewers shared their disappointment on social media. One viewer wrote: "Did we get Brad in the taxi?" A second then commented: "Poor Bradley didn’t even get to sit in the taxi."

Discussing the missing taxi exit, a third said: "lol Brad didn’t even get his taxi and scarf moment." And a fourth added: "Bradley didn't even get a taxi moment."

The Apprentice continues on BBC One next Thursday at 9pm. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
