BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly make semi final announcement

BBC's Strictly Come Dancing has reached the semi final stage and with the momentous moment on the horizon, Claudia Winkleman announced changes to the forthcoming shows. The popular dance competition has already faced a shift in scheduling as sporting fixtures bumped the show to a different slot, and now the upheaval continues with other changes to next week's shows.

After Strictly took a Friday evening slot last week to make way for the BBC's live coverage of the World Cup knockout games, the weekend's results show aired on Saturday, rather than Sunday. The reshuffle continues. At the end of this week's results show, co-host Tess Daly confirmed that the Strictly semi final would be live on a Sunday at 7.15pm, with the results on a Monday.

It was Musicals Week for the quarter final, but last week fans had already been disappointed after a Strictly spoiler leaked the outcome of the show, according to Chronicle Live. However, the results programme kept things going with a theatrical theme and a Guys & Dolls inspired opening from the Strictly pros and a guest performance from the stars of hit musical The Cher Show. Tess Daly then revealed who was safe and who was in the dance-off.

Kym Marsh and pro partner Graziano Di Prima were in trouble this week along with Molly Rainford and pro partner Carlos Gu. Molly found herself in danger for a fourth time this series, however, it was Kym and Graziano who had to pack up their dancing shoes this week and head home. Right before that moment though, Will Mellor and Helen Skelton found out they'd made it through to the semi final, but it wasn't all good news for those going through to the semi final. Claudia announced they will have to learn two dances for next weekend.

She asked Will: "How are you going to tackle that?" to which he replied: "Not a clue! It just sounds knackering. My brain is knackered as it is, it's like I'm dancing in my sleep. So we'll just have to do what we can do; I mean, we're all in the same boat."
