BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans point out same issue during Luke Evans' 'beautiful' performance

Strictly Come Dancing fans were wowed as Luke Evans appeared in the ballroom and gave a 'beautiful' performance during the latest results show. The Hollywood actor and singer was the latest musical guest to bring some much-need relief during Sunday's show as the next couple to leave the competition was announced.

After news that Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kumzin would be the first couple performing again in a bid to keep their place in the BBC One dance contest, Luke a cover of the classic Bridge Over Troubled Water taken from his album A Song For You.

He was joined on the floor by pro dancers, and real-life couple, Kai Widdrington and Nadiya Bychkova who romantically danced to his rendition of the Simon & Garfunkel track.

And while some Strictly fans were distracted, with many doing a double take, as they observed that Luke and Kai bore an uncanny resemblance and joked that the show was 'trolling' them by putting them on the stage together, others were left slightly irked.

@AlexisCoram tweeted: "Surprised they didn’t tell the audience to shut the f up while Luke Evans sang that song. Screaming for the dancers wasn’t really appropriate during a ballad. #strictly." @victoriahughes02 said: "I really don’t like the audience screaming out when the singer is singing they should be told to be quite!"

@mandytunstill68 replied: "I agree love they should wait till song ends." @nannydev1959 added: "Great performance from the singer & the dancers just wish the audience would do the best thing and be quiet!!! We don’t need your clapping and shouting throughout the performance please be quiet."

But sadly, fans said Luke's performance couldn't soften the blow for the latest Strictly results which followed shortly after the Welsh star's performance. Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu discovered they'd be in the dance-off with Ellie and Nikita and were the first to take to the floor to perform again.

CBBC star Molly, 21, and professional dancer Carlos performed their foxtrot to You Make Me Happy by My Sun and My Stars, which saw them land 35 points during the live show, with Shirley Ballas describing it as the "epitome of style and sophistication". Meanwhile, five-time Paralympic gold medallist Ellie and Ukrainian pro Nikita reprised their lively Charleston to Too Darn Hot from Kiss Me Kate in a bid to impress the judges.

During Saturday’s show, Ellie, 27, secured a score of 33 and had the audience and some of the judges on their feet following the routine, which had multiple spins and lifts. However, after both couples had danced for a second time, it was a unanimous decision by the judges to save Molly and Carlo, therefore sending Ellie and Nikita home.

@sharigledhill tweeted: "Not even Luke Evans singing beautifully or Kai and Nadiya dancing together could ease the pain of tonight’s elimination. Ellie and Nikita shone so brightly and I wanted to see more of them!" @D4N7O shared: "I’m genuinely gutted for @EllieSimmonds1. I just adored her passion, enthusiasm and excitement… and what a fantastic partner to have, @kuzmin__nikita… they brought the best out in each-other… Thank you Ellie for putting the ability in capability #Strictly."
