BBC Scotland and independence
Although BBC Scotland is the primary public broadcaster in the country, there have long been concerns over its output.
Regarding its news output, many of those in favour of Scottish independence do not trust the broadcaster in the wake of the 2014 referendum.
The likes of celebrity Yes supporter Alan Cumming have called out the organisation for "suppressing news" about independence, while the broadcaster has been accused of ignoring major Yes events.
One 2023 report by former media professor John Robertson found that BBC Scotland politicises public services to attack the SNP government in a way that BBC Wales does not for its own devolved government.
The same professor argued that in 2014, BBC Radio Scotland's Good Morning Scotland had a pro-Union bias.
