BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg Sparks Outrage as Viewers Make the Same Furious Complaint

Laura Kuenssberg made her return to Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg after a break for Easter – but not everyone was thrilled to see her back on their screens.

As Laura interviewed Labour minister Pat McFadden, Lib Dem leader Ed Davey, and Slow Horses star Jack Lowden, plenty of viewers rushed to social media to vent their frustration.

One unhappy fan posted: “After a break from Laura Kuenssberg last week, just caught sight of her. BBC needs a shake-up and removal of her, Fiona Bruce and Chris Mason. London Marathon looks a better watch today”, reported the Express.

Another viewer agreed, saying: “I don’t know whether I can be bothered to tune into #bbclaurak today – she irritates me beyond belief. When Andrew Marr occupied the BBC Sunday political slot, I was very critical of him. Now I feel: Come back, Andrew – all is forgiven. Hmm. Maybe not. BBC doesn’t do politics well.”

A third added: “Tuning into #bbclaurak, hoping that it’s going to be Victoria Derbyshire presenting.” And a fourth didn’t hold back either, writing: “What a snide @bbclaurak is!! She needs to be replaced ASAP!”

Still, not everyone was negative. One viewer praised Laura’s interview with McFadden, especially as she pressed him on the fallout from the UK Supreme Court’s ruling on transgender women.

They wrote: “Important questions from @bbclaurak to Pat McFadden about whether he feels regret about how gender critics have been treated. Although not named, @RosieDuffield1 is included in this. McFadden answers a different question twice.”

While the politics might have got viewers riled up, it was actor Jack Lowden who really surprised people, all because of his real accent. Fans were stunned when Jack, best known for playing River Cartwright in Slow Horses, spoke with his natural Scottish accent rather than the London twang his character uses.

One fan admitted: “Forgot Jack Lowden was Scottish tbh, his accent work across all the things I’ve seen him in over the years has been so good.” Another said: “I’ve just heard Jack Lowden speak in his Scottish accent for the first time and it has fully broken my brain.”

Jack also chatted about his future projects, teasing that he’d love to play Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice and wouldn’t say no to stepping into the shoes of James Bond. And for Slow Horses fans, the good news is that the hit Apple TV show is returning for a fifth season this summer, although a release date is still under wraps.
