BBC EastEnders fans spot huge blunder as Jean drops off presents

EastEnders fans spotted a big blunder tonight as Jean brought Easter eggs home for the family.

In the opening scenes Jean came into the house and said: "Come and see what the Easter Bunny has got in store."

Kush said: "He'll have to wait Jean, he's got his tutor."

Jean replied: "What even in the holidays, nonsense but I need you for my secret plan."

Later on viewers saw Jean dress the children up as Easter eggs, ahead of the Easter bonnet parade.

But with Easter happening a few weeks ago in the real world, many viewers took to social media to point out the timing blunder.

EastEnders has had to cut down episodes to just two a week, as the coronavirus crisis brought a halt to filming.

Spacing the episodes out means that inevitable timing errors like tonight's will continue to happen for the next few weeks at least.

But fans at home were still struggling to get used to the new schedule.

Karen M Renton said: "It's Easter in Albert Square. How long did I nap?"

Peter Rachman said: "Longest Easter ever."

Rob said: "Going off my head thinking it was Easter, then realised episodes are behind because there's only two per week."

Mark Cording said: "Wow easter was 4 weeks ago lol how far are they behind."

Michelle Pryde said: "Absolutely mind blown that it’s Easter on #EastEnders mental that’s how far behind we are now."

And Declan Kincaid said: "I can’t believe Jean is talking about Easter & Toilet roll when Easter is long gone & we’ve already had the panic buying of toilet roll. The soap schedule really is all over the place."

*EastEnders continues next Monday on BBC1
