BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker co-hosts in hysterics over body comparison with Olympian

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker had his co-hosts Sally Nugent and Louise Minchin in fits of laughter after he compared his torso to that of Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty's.

Sally was talking to Adam ahead of the Tokyo Olympics this summer, while Dan made numerous quips suggesting he'd be the Olympian's perfect body-double.

The sports journalist congratulated the swimmer for his dedication to the sport saying: "He’s unstoppable isn’t he? He is unstoppable!"

Dan went on to make the seemingly natural comparison and teased: "Similar upper body to me as well actually. A lot of care and attention has gone into that."

However, Sally and Louise couldn't contain themselves, forcing the former Football Focus presenter to ask: "Hold on a minute, why are you two laughing so much?”

After a pretty gloomy weather update from Jayne McCubbin, Louise advised: "We’ve just got to get through it - we’ve been looking through our phones and this time last year, it was blue skies, bikinis..."

"I wasn’t wearing a bikini," Dan laughed with Louise quipping: “Despite your Adam Peaty body."

This followed Dan bidding an emotional farewell to Football Focus on Saturday after 12 years presenting the show.

Walker revealed that he would be stepping down last month , before Alex Scott was subsequently announced as his successor . She will be the first woman to permanently host the programme, which has been running since 1974.

Following confirmation, in a message to viewers she declared: "I just wanted to send a quick message to let you all know how excited and honoured I am to be announced as the new Football Focus host.

"And it is not lost on me, one bit, because I know how iconic the show is and what a big deal it is."

Walker first took the reins of the show in 2009 and, since then, he has often been joined by pundits like Mark Lawrenson, Jermaine Jenas, Dion Dublin, Martin Keown and Scott, among others.
