Bayern Munich send Cristiano Ronaldo transfer message after Manchester United departure

Cristiano Ronaldo will not be signing for Bayern Munich after his departure from Old Trafford.

Speculation over the former Manchester United striker and his immediate future remains at fever pitch while he is away with Portugal chasing World Cup glory. United parted ways with Ronaldo, 37, in the aftermath of his explosive interview with Piers Morgan which drew widespread attention on the eve of the ongoing Qatar showcase.

During that TalkTV bombshell, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner openly criticised his now former club, as well as Erik ten Hag and several key figures associated with United past and present. As a result, Ronaldo is available for nothing heading towards the January transfer window after leaving for a second time.

Bayern were among several clubs linked with his high-profile signature this summer. However, after outlining their intention to stay away from Ronaldo at that stage, CEO and former Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has distanced Bayern, once again, from the one-time Real Madrid and Juventus superstar.

Kahn told Sky Sports in Germany: "We have already dealt with this. We have a clear idea, and a clear philosophy, in how our squad should be put together."

He continued: "We all appreciate him, but there's no discussion. We all love Cristiano Ronaldo, but that's something that doesn't fit into our idea."

Ronaldo won three Premier League titles and one Champions League medal during his first stint at United between 2003 and 2009 before taking his already dazzling career to even greater heights with Real and Juventus. He returned to Old Trafford from Turin last summer and totted-up 346 games with 145 goals for United across his two spells.
