Bayern Munich are weighing up a move for Liverpool forward Rio Ngumoha.
Vincent Kompany’s side have made the 17-year-old their top transfer target this summer as they look to strengthen their options in the final third.
The Athletic report that the Bundesliga champions, who were knocked out in the Champions League semi-finals by Paris Saint-Germain, are considering multiple options to add to their attack, but the teenager is top of their wishlist.
Ngumoha is one of three youngsters called up by Thomas Tuchel to join England’s World Cup preparations ahead of this summer’s tournament, although he, Ethan Nwaneri and Alex Scott are not part of the 26-strong squad themselves.
The young star has shone in his breakthrough campaign at Anfield, scoring two goals and adding an assist in 29 appearances across all competitions for the Reds, who decided against replacing Luis Diaz - who joined Bayern himself - in favour of nurturing Ngumoha’s development.
Ngumoha was rewarded for his shining performances with a professional contract back in September, which runs until 2028.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are eyeing RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande as their top transfer target, as they search for a replacement for the departing Mohamed Salah, who will leave the club upon the expiration of his contract this month.
Diomande, the 19-year-old winger, is reported to be the Merseysiders’ No1 option out wide, and it is believed that the Reds, now under new management with Andoni Iraola, have made an approach to the Bundesliga side to try and get a deal done.
