Bayern Munich came from behind three times in a see-saw thriller to beat Real Madrid 4-3 and advance 6-4 on aggregate to a Champions League semi-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern went into the second leg of their quarter-final at the Allianz Arena in Munich nursing a 2-1 lead from the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid on 7 April.

The game in Munich was less than a minute old when Arda Güler scored for Madrid to level the tie 2-2 on aggregate.

But within five minutes, Aleksandar Pavlovic made it 1-1 to restore Bayern's overall advantage at 3-2.

After half an hour, Güler hit his second of the night. At 2-1 to Madrid, the quarter-final was all square at 3-3.

Harry Kane's equaliser for Bayern nudged them ahead 4-3 after 39 minutes.

France skipper Kylian Mbappé had the last word on a hectic first-half when he fired the ball past the Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to give Madrid a 3-2 lead and level the tie on aggregate.

But the match turned when Mbappé's international teammate, Eduardo Camavinga, received two yellow cards within 10 minutes and was sent off in the 86th minute..

Bayern striker Luiz Diaz scored three minutes later to restore Bayern's aggregate lead at 5-4 and as Madrid searched for a goal to take the tie into extra-time, another France international Michael Olise struck in stoppage-time to seal Madrid's fate.

"In the last 20 minutes of the game I felt like we were the team trying to make something happen," Kane told reporters.

"They started to tire a little bit, and it just sometimes takes a moment of magic, an unbelievable finish, or an unbelievable pass.

"In this case, it was two great finishes to finish the game off for us and that's what the Champions League is about. Sometimes, you can be the dominant team and lose, so it's nice to get through and win this one."

Bayern will play the first leg of the semi-final against PSG at the Parc des Princes in Paris on 28 April.

The other semi-final will pit Arsenal against Atletico Madrid.
